Maybe because of its contract offers, maybe because of its Wimax dependence in the past but the first Quarter of 2012 for Sprint was definitely not that great. One of the most popular carriers in the USA posted a $255 million operating loss and this is despite the fact that during the first three months of 2012 Sprint added about 263,000 postpaid subscribers. At this moment Sprint has more than 56 million customers (32.8 million postpaid, and 15.3 million prepaid). A certain part of those customers, 1.5 million, to be exact, is using iPhones on Sprint networks. But we have our fingers crossed for Sprint and I do hope that this will help cause starting this year Sprint has left Wimax behind and started working on spreading LTE network to make it work stable and fast for their customers in a couple of years all over the country. Right now you can try out Sprint’s LTE in 6 cities only but carrier promised to raise this number to 12,000 sites (not cities) by the end of this year.
