We all went crazy over the Motorola Droid, so it is only natural that Motorola would make a more versions of this highly popular device - after all - look what they did with the RAZR. But all failures aside, it seems that Motorola is taking necessary steps to release the new Motorola Droid X this summer, according to Boy Genius Report. First - the Droid X will be surfacing sometimes in July, with it's following Droid 2 showing it's face on the market a mere month later. This all comes after rumor was following the Droid Shadow - the Droid Xtreme will be a touch-ionly device featuring a growingly popular 4.3-inch display - very similar to the one found on the HTC EVO 4G.
A recent leak showed that the Droid X will offer users 720p playback, an HDMI output, and an 8-megapixel camera with a Dual-LED flash. Other rumors also indicate that the device will include 8GB of Internal Memory, a 700MHz OMAP3630 Processor, and will likely run Android 2.1 Eclair or possibly Froyo - with a modified version of MotoBLUR... of course. The Droid 2, however, will be maintaining the screen size of 3.7-inches, and will be running at 1GHz, which is considerably faster than the current 750 MHz. The Droid 2 will also feature a 5-Megapixel camera and will also be running Android 2.1 Eclair when it surface, although 2.2 is still a possibility as well. [cnet]
