Someone made a mistake at HTC, that might have cost them their job. Today, HTC’s 2009 Device Roadmap was leaked to the internet, full pictures and all. All of the devices that HTC has in store for this year can all be found hear, assuming none are added between then (yeah, right.) The first thing we can detract from these photos is that HTC will be fully engaging in the devolopment of touch screen devices, and with the recent success in capactivite screens—why not? There’s also a lot of color in the devices, stepping away from the traditional black and grey seen in many smart phones. Unfortunately there’s no spec list for each device, but we should know soon enough shouldn’t we?

Well take a look at this, it seems that HTC’s G2 has escaped from the design labs for a in the wild photo. If this photo is infact legitimate, it seems that the G1’s prodocessor ditches the full QWERTY keyboard for a thinner and more sleek design. Supposedly the device sports a 3.2 MP camera. Currently the only device available that supports Android OS is the G1, and we’re not expecting to see this until sometime in may—so if you plan on holding out until then, hold your horses because we will hopefully be seeing more Android devices in the mean time.

The HTC Touch HD is a beautiful device that has Windows Mobile users dropping their jaw at sight. For some unknown reason however, the device will not be recieving a North American launch. The device’s most notable feature? The 480 x 800 VGA display, one of the most crisp screens available. Even more interesting than the device by itself, however, is the device running Android. Android was announced as an open platform OS that could eventually be ported to a full spectrum of devices and that just seems to be the case. The video is a little tough to deal with, but hey it’s better than nothing!
You can peep the video here!

The only device rumor that has been in circulation for almost as long as the Zune Phone would have to be the infamous “Dell Phone” The rumor is back, and it is stronger than ever. According to sources, Dell could go on to release a smart phone as early as next month’s Mobile World Congress. Another source claims that the Dell execs are currently carrying around the G1 as their main mobile device. These rumors seem to go on forever, will we ever seen any light to them though?
Google’s development team has released notes on the new “Cupcake” developmental branch which will roll out a rather large drop of changes in the near future and smaller drops later on that will improve on the core Android platform. The upgrades are broken down into subsets that include but are not limited to: Applications, Download Manager, Framework, Bluetooth, Systems Software, Radio and Telephony, Developer tools and build systems. For a more detailed breakdown visit the Android Developers Web Site here. All new code is reported as being formally merged with the master branch of the newer code base, therefore nothing reported should be lost. Hopefully we will see said improvements soon.
