It was bound to happen eventually, Android Froyo 2.2 has been successfully installed onto an iPhone 3G. This is the first time that the Froyo build has been placed on an iPhone - previously the Eclair build was working properly on one. Most of the main functions work for now - all but the Wi-Fi, Audio, and the phone's GPU - all of which the team is working on currently.
The dev team who achieved the install confirmed that the hacked iPhone does receive calls and texts. The team is very positive, but it has been reported that the install runs with some minor glitches - as well as a heat video while watching video on 2.2 while installed on the iPhone.
