Today in Android Cell Phone news, if you’re one of the people who put up the cash early to use the unlocked Nexus One on AT&T, you may be regretting your choice fairly soon – as you’re only going to access the EDGE Network. Engadget has been spying on another phone through the FCC that is a mere one digit off the current Nexus One, and this usually means that it’s a variation of the device – and it supports the 3G bands which are used by AT&T, as well as Telus, Rogers, and Bell in Canada. Whether or not it will be coming to any of these carriers, or will be unlocked still remains a mystery. We’ll keep you updated on the topic only at AndroidTrek.com. [AndroidCentral]

Today in Android Cell Phone news, could the Nexus One be selling at Wal-Mart soon? Like most other Android Based smartphones, it seems that the Nexus One just may end up on the shelves of the Walmart electronics section. This is reasonable – some may see it to be a set back, but Wal-Mart is a pretty big deal when it comes to volume, being the biggest retailer in the world, one would actually expect the Nexus One to EVENTUALLY wind up in the store. So if this is all true, then the Nexus One will be pushing much more units than it currently is, which is great news for Google and HTC. Maybe this is the reason that the companies are planning on making this move. We’ll bring you more information as news develops, only at AndroidTrek.com. [AndroidCentral]

Today in Android Cell Phone news, alot of you readers out there have gotten the recent Motorola Droid OTA Update. What we’ve heard is that among other fixes that came with the update, the battery life has been greatly improved. It was originally intended to fix some facebook issues, maybe the team at Motorola figured that improved battery life would make things run a lot better, including staying on the facebook app even longer, although the battery life on the Droid has never really been an issue. In Android Cell Phone News today, it looks like we, here in America, will be graced with the Motorola Motoroi. It was reported that the Motoroi would be the first Android Device in South Korea, and up until now, we had expected it to stay over in the East like other Motorola Android devices. We were wrong. According to an SK Telecom Executive:
“The Motoroi is a different model from the Droid, and it will be launched in the United States around March,” Bae Joon-dong, senior vice president of SK Telecom, said at a press conference.
The Motorola Motoroi definitely has some very impressive specs, including an 8 megapixel camera, 720p video recording, and HDMI out. On the other hand, the Motoroi is not quite aesthetically pleasing, but it is an impressive device, and I’m sure the people here in the states will welcome this Android device with open arms. Someone made a mistake at HTC, that might have cost them their job. Today, HTC’s 2009 Device Roadmap was leaked to the internet, full pictures and all. All of the devices that HTC has in store for this year can all be found hear, assuming none are added between then (yeah, right.) The first thing we can detract from these photos is that HTC will be fully engaging in the devolopment of touch screen devices, and with the recent success in capactivite screens—why not? There’s also a lot of color in the devices, stepping away from the traditional black and grey seen in many smart phones. Unfortunately there’s no spec list for each device, but we should know soon enough shouldn’t we?

Today in Android Cell Phone News, devices are definitely the Hot thing this year, and it doesn’t seem like they are going to just be a fad. NVIDIA was seen at the CES 2010 showing off Compal’s Android based tablet which boasts wifi, SIM / MicroSD Slot, Android 2.0, HDMI out, 1080p video, flash 10.1, and a 7 inch resistive touchscreen. Now this concept is still only a prototype, which makes it even more impressive, and leaves plenty of room for great improvements to be made to the Tegra Tablet. One of the best phones out there that you can get as of now is the Google Nexus S! The Google Nexus S has it everything you can want and more from an Android smart phone, features, apps, and endless Google Nexus S accessories! But there is one thing that might bring some people down. The Google Nexus S does not have Gorilla Glass. Many other Android smart phones have been installing this very protective glass, but for some reason the Nexus S came without it. Why is that? Google may have decided to leave out the Gorilla Glass simply to make the smart phone more affordable to the general public, since this phone is already at a hefty price, even with the two year contract. Another reason could  be that the actual design of the smart phone will not allow it, slightly curved which would mean that the glass would have to be curved as well which could present manufacturer problems. Gorilla Glass protects the screen of smart phones even more then other screens, and is one of the toughest glasses out there. Well your going to have to find another way to protect your Google Nexus S. Maybe with some Google Nexus S Covers or Google Nexus S Cases. That way you will not have to worry about scratching the screen in the first place.
